Notice of Special Meeting

In accordance with the attached/linked Notice, The Charlottetown Minor Hockey Inc. Executive Committee invites any member in good standing to a special meeting on May 15th, 2024, at 7:00 PM, at the West Royalty Community Centre.
The purpose of this meeting is to enact several proposed amendments to the constitution, as outlined in the Notice, in advance of an upcoming Annual General Meeting, at which time a motion relating to a potential merger with the Sherwood Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association will be presented.
At a high level, the proposed amendments address the following key topics:
In accordance with Articles 3.00 and 11.00 of the Constitution, a member will be eligible to vote provided the following criteria are met:
Practically, this will be applied to mean that there is one vote per “household”, provided that no fees, fines, or accounts payable are outstanding.

At a high level, the proposed amendments address the following key topics:
- Clarification of the definition of a member and a voting member.
- Revisions to the titles of Executive Officers (and related references) that have been used for the past several years.
- Revisions to meeting protocols of the Association.
- Revisions to the constitution of a quorum at meetings of the Association.
- Revisions to the procedures of proposed Amendments of the Constitution.
In accordance with Articles 3.00 and 11.00 of the Constitution, a member will be eligible to vote provided the following criteria are met:
- Any person who is a resident of Charlottetown and has paid the membership fee in accordance with the bylaws.
- Any person who owns real property in Charlottetown and has paid the membership fee in accordance with the bylaws.
- In the case of married persons, the vote shall be held by the person signing the application for and paying the required fee.
- Any person who provides evidence of the conferral of a Special Membership in the Association.
- Any person who provides evidence of the conferral of a Life Membership in the Association.
