COVID-19 Update for February 17th

Protocols have changed February 17th.

Hi folks,

The COVID-19 page on our website should have the most up to date information. Please periodically check for updates.

New protocols come into effect for PEI rinks today as gameplay restarts. A summary of changes for Simmons Arena, Cody Banks Arena, and Bell Aliant Centre is below.
 
  • Bell Aliant Centre:

    • Participants:
      • Teams can begin competition so long as the total number of participants is less than 50 per day.
      • Teams are able to participate in interprovincial games and events.
      • No big tournaments are allowed (that would see more than 50 participants involved in a day).
      • Masking is still required as participants enter/exit facilities, move about within them and in the change rooms.
      • Vax Pass responsibilities still fall on the user groups, participants 19 years and older must follow the Vax Pass requirements of showing proof of vaccination for entrance.
      • If activity is mixed with some participants 19 years of age and older and some 19 years of age and younger, all participants are required to show proof of vaccination.
    • Spectators
      • Venues can allow up to 50% of their capacity for spectators to watch the event. This means:
        • MacLauchlan Arena A can host up to 500 spectators.
        • MacLauchlan Arena B can host up to 200 spectators.
      • User groups are responsible to ensure spectators physical distance as best they can within the facility space.
      • There is no requirement for any spectators to cohort based on which team they are supporting.
      • All spectators must wear masks throughout the duration of the activity and while moving about inside the facility.
      • Vax Pass responsibilities still fall on the user groups, All spectators must meet the Vaxpass requirements:
        • Spectators 19 and older must show proof of vaccine and valid ID.
        • Spectators 12 to 18 just need to show proof of vaccine.
  • Simmons and Cody Banks Arenas:

    • ​Participants:
      • If on-ice activity is mixed with people aged both below and over 19 years old, then all participants must be vaccinated (2 doses).
      • All ice times are Vax Pass Events. Participants 19 and older must be vaccinated (2 doses).
      • Masks are mandatory for all users while in the facility unless you are on the ice.
      • On-ice cohorts can arrive a maximum of 30 minutes prior to their ice time and must depart within 15 minutes of the completion of their ice time.
      • On-ice cohorts will be allowed up to 50 total participants. This will allow games to take place for both minor sport and rec leagues.
    • Spectators:
      • All spectators aged 12 and older must be vaccinated (2 doses).
      • All spectators must wear a mask while inside the facility.
      • Spectators should physical distance as best they can within the spectator zone.
      • There is no requirement for spectators to cohort within the spectator zone.
      • The spectator zone at Cody Banks is the full length of the stands along the glass and standing room in the score clock end up to the Zamboni door. The spectator zone at Simmons is the full length of the stands on the opposite side of the player benches and standing room in the score clock end up to the Zamboni door.
      • Spectator limit for Cody Banks Arena is 250 and Simmons Sports Centre is 150.
      • Spectators enter/exit the side door at Cody Banks Arena. Spectators enter/exit the main door at Simmons Sports Centre.
      • Spectators may enter the arena once the previous ice times spectators have left the arena and must exit immediately after the completion of their ice time.
      • Spectator zones will reopen at both Cody Banks Arena and Simmons Sports Centre.
