Hockey's Back!

2020-12-18

We have some updated protocols that must be followed for a successful return to hockey!

Hi everyone,

We are happy to have minor hockey back on PEI, beginning today! However, there are a few changes to the protocols we must follow to ensure that the children can continue playing.

Regarding the two options for a return presented by Hockey PEI, all rinks used by CMHA have indicated that they will follow the first option. This means that there will be no spectator cohorts at any rinks until further notice. For the Initiation Program (U7), only one parent per player will be allowed in the rink for a maximum cohort of 50.

The other protocols on the COVID-19 page on our website will remain in place. Please review these protocols, including those for participants, gameplay, and fundraising.

Additionally, we would like to stress the importance of consistent contact tracing. As we learned through experience a few weeks ago, when the information contained on these contact tracing sheets is needed, it is needed as quickly as possible. We would ask that team liaisons, contact tracers, and/or managers submit these contact tracing sheets to alex.macbain@cmhapei.ca immediately following any home ice time, including a game or a practice.

We look forward to first getting hockey back for the participants, and then getting it back to a ‘normal’ experience! Thanks for your understanding.
