Planning for the 2020-2021 Female Hockey Season in Zone 3

For the 2020-2021 Minor Hockey season, the female Zone 3 Committee, which consists of representation from Charlottetown, Kings County, Pownal, and Sherwood Associations, would like to share the finalized plan for the coming season of Female AA and AAA hockey within our Zone.

As a Zone committee we are committed to ensure that all our players have an exceptional experience and hope that as parents/guardians this is always top of mind.   

We will continue as noted last year with the following rinks hosting our AA and AAA teams to add consistency and allow for families to plan, reduce questions, and have each area of the Zone house at least one team every year.

U11 (formerly Atom) AA – Pownal
U13 (formerly Peewee) AAA – Montague
U15 (formerly Bantam) AAA – Charlottetown area
U18 (formerly Midget) AAA – Charlottetown area

We will be moving forward with the following in Zone 3 based on analysis of the projected number of players.

U11 AA – two teams

• These teams will be hosted in Pownal.
• All players will tryout together and a draft with at least 1-2 Zone representatives and the head coaches will occur so that the teams are divided evenly. The teams will have a home game time each week and will be encouraged, as they were last year, to practice together to increase their ice time each week.

U13 AAA – two teams

• These teams will be hosted in Montague.
• All players will tryout together and a draft with at least 1-2 Zone representatives and the head coaches will occur so that the teams are divided evenly. The teams will have a home game time each week and will be encouraged, as they were last year, to practice together to increase their ice time each week.

U15 AAA – one team

• This team will be hosted in one of the Charlottetown/Sherwood arenas.

U18 AAA – one team

• This team will be hosted in one of the Charlottetown/Sherwood arenas  

The Zone 3 Selection Committee is accepting coaching applications for all teams until 5:00 P.M. on August 14th.
