Three CMHA Teams Win Jointly-Hosted George Trainor Holiday Classic

Three Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association teams tasted tournament victory with division wins at the 14th Annual George Trainor Holiday Classic. The tournament was held over December 27th to December 29th, 2018.
Peewee Boys – Charlottetown Abbies Team 1
The Charlottetown Abbies Team 1 were undefeated through the tournament. They beat the Sherwood Falcons Team 2 by a score of 5-2, the Morell Mustangs 7-2, and the North River Flames Team 3 7-4 in round robin play. The Abbies faced off against the North River Flames Team 2 in the crossovers, shutting them out 5-0. Rolling into the championship game, they beat the Rustico North Stars 4-0 to win the title.
Players include: Ben Bulman, Colin Collicutt, Nolan Cooper, Luke Dickie, Cohen Doucette, Colby Gillis, Sebastian Hayden, Jacob Henderson, David Kong, Steven Luo, Julian Ma, Seamus MacEachern, Jacob MacMillan-Dallaire, Cameron Matheson, Alex Nicholson, Connor Rowell, and Julian Wang. The team is coached by Craig Cooper, Chris Henderson, and Kent Nicholson, and managed by Amy MacMillan.
Bantam Boys – Charlottetown Abbies Team 2
The Charlottetown Abbies Team 2 were also undefeated through the George Trainor Holiday Classic. In round robin play, the Abbies beat the Evangeline Flyers 13-1, the O’Leary Maroons 6-2, the North River Flames Team 2 4-2, and the Sherwood Falcons Team 1 8-2. The Abbies then prepared to face off against the Sherwood Falcons Team 2 in the crossovers, ultimately winning 6-3. The championship game was a hard-fought battle against the Tyne Valley Tornados, with the Abbies claiming victory by a score of 2-1.
Players include: Ethan Alexander, Sam Casford, Liam Craig, Nathan Farrell, Nicholas Fong, Kelen Gillis, Owen Griffin, Nicholas Harris, Reegan MacAulay, Max MacIsaac, Cohen Munn, and Zack O’Meara. The team is coached by Mike O’Meara.
Midget Boys – Central Attack Team 3
The Central Attack Team 3 faced a tougher road to their title, going 2-1 in round robin play, which included a 2-0 loss to the Summerside Capitals Team 2. The Attack rebounded, beating the Rustico North Stars 5-2 and the Kensington Jr. Vipers 5-1 to round out divisional play. The Attack entered their crossover matchup against the Morell Mustangs as underdogs, but came out victorious with a 5-0 win. They prepared to face the Alberton Regals in the championship game, a team that was undefeated with 24 goals for and 2 goals against. After going down 2-0 early one, the Attack bounced back to a 4-2 victory to win the George Trainor Holiday Classic.
Players include: Daylin Andrew, Daniel Barry, Connor Bower, Dylan Bower, Aidan Campbell, Daniel Collins, Quaid Costello, Riley Fitzpatrick, Julien Jones, Adam MacKenzie, Nicholas Matte, Keaghan Norring, Matthew Perry, Mateo Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Kobe Stewart, and Andrew Williamson.
