Peewee AAA Abbies Peak Competition in the Joe Lamontagne
2018-03-13The Peewee AAA Abbies were victorious for the second weekend in a row.
The Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association would like to congratulate the Peewee AAA Charlottetown Abbies on victory in the Joe Lamontagne Memorial March Break Tournament, held March 10th-12th, 2018 in Cole Harbour.
The win comes just one week after the Abbies topped competition in the 20th Annual Edd McNeill Memorial Tournament. It is the team's third tournament win of the year.
The Abbies won their first two games of the tournament, beating the EDZA NB East Aces 3-0 and the East Hants Penguins 4-3 on the first day of the tournament. The following day, they suffered a tough 3-2 loss to the host Cole Harbour Wings.
Charlottetown ultimately rebounded, however, as they beat the Cole Harbour Wings 4-3 in the tournament final. The Abbies successfully defended their championship from last year's edition.
The team's hot streak comes at a perfect time, as Charlottetown is hosting this year's Peewee AAA Provincials, beginning this Friday at the Bell Aliant Centre.
The Peewee AAA Charlottetown Abbies team consists of Brett Arsenault, Sam Casford, Ethan Clark, Ryan Harper, Alex Koughan, Jonah MacDonald, Seamus MacEachern, Finn Morris, Nathan Mossey, Brennan Murphy, Zack O'Meara, Jack Rowell, Keegan Rush-Germaine, Max Sentner, Cam Squires, Creegan Tompkins, and Wil White. Coaches are Jeff Squires, Chris Hedefine, and Matthew Weeks.
