Host Teams Win the SPUD
2018-01-29The Novice AA Abbies and the Midget AAA Central Attack were champions over the weekend.
The Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association would like to congratulate all teams on a successful 43rd Annual Spud Hockey Tournament. In particular, we would like to congratulate the Novice AA Charlottetown Abbies and the Midget AAA Central Attack on winning their respective divisions as the host teams. We would also like to give an honourable mention to the Peewee AAA Charlottetown Abbies on reaching the championship game.
The Novice AA Abbies have now won their third tournament of the year, playing the entire tournament without a loss. It is great to see such a young team achieve so much so far this year. Their play was highlighted by Megan Mossey, who was awarded the tournament's Drew Power Leadership Award.
The championship win by the Midget AAA Central Attack marks a pivotal moment in their season. They had a convincing win against the Kings County Kings before winning a thriller against the Pownal Red Devils. Here's hoping this success carries over to the postseason!
Congratulations to the Novice AA Abbies and the Midget AAA Attack, and to all volunteers, participants, and committee members on a successful 43rd edition of the Spud Hockey Tournament.
