CMHA gives back this Holiday Season with Santa's Angels
2015-11-30Charlottetown Minor Hockey is looking to get in the Christmas spirit and give back to those in need in our community. We are challenging all teams to take part and give back this holiday season. We have partnered with the group Santa’s Angels to help Charlottetown area families have a memorable and enjoyable Christmas.
Santa’s Angels is a not-for-profit group of individuals who work hard to organize, fundraise, and carry out a surprise visit by Santa and his elves on Christmas morning. Santa’s Angels has helped hundreds of people in the Charlottetown and surrounding area since 2004. Santa’s Angels is a 100% volunteer-based registered charity that hopes to reach those who, are not able to provide Christmas gifts and food for their children. Santa and the elves bring food, toys, and gifts on each visit. In addition, each package is customized based upon the needs of the individual or family. For more information please see http://www.santasangels.ca/
CMHA is looking to collect new toys/teddy bears (unwrapped) and non-perishable contents for a turkey dinner (e.g. boxed stuffing, canned cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, canned soups and stews).
A donation box will be set up at Simmons Sports Arena to allow for people to drop off items. We ask that you leave a note with each item you drop off so we know what team the item is coming from. Each item is equal to one point. The teams with the most points at the end will receive the prizes. The Event will run until Saturday December 12th.
In addition, we are fortunate to have some donated prizes for the teams that put in the most effort. Prizes include:
