Hockey PEI Central Storm Awarded 2016 Midget AAA Female Atlantic Championships

Hockey PEI has announced that the Central Storm has been selected as the host for the 2016 Midget AAA Female Atlantic Championships. The Central Storm will host the event at the MacLauchlan Arena (CARI) from March 31 to April 3, 2016.
The championship will crown the top Midget female team from the region. Teams will include Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, a provincial representative from PEI and the host team Central Storm.
The winner of the Championship will be crowned the Atlantic representative and will compete at the 2016 Esso Cup National Midget Female Hockey Championships April 17-23 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
The Central Storm was successful in their bid attempt, as they were selected by a selection committee comprised of members of Hockey PEI Minor Council whom reviewed the bid applications and made the selection for the championships.
"On behalf of the Central Storm Midget AAA Hockey Team and the host committee, we are extremely pleased and look forward to hosting the top Atlantic midget female teams at the 2016 Midget AAA Female Atlantics”, stated Mellissa Hilton representing the host bid committee.
“This is bound to be a great weekend of hockey, showcasing great skill and talent from the top female midget teams in Atlantic Canada. The committee is looking forward to working with Hockey PEI and the City of Charlottetown to deliver an excellent event”.
